Conception Old Wives Tales

So I think it was ex-President Bush who said "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again". Right... well, this just goes to show that we all get fooled sometimes. My point here is that there is a lot of information out there that can lead you astray. This is nowhere more apparent than in the world of conception myths. As long as there has been conception (a long time...) there have been myths surrounding it. So what is one to do? Well... keep reading and let us debunk some of the garbage floating through the Internet, or from your grandma.

There are a bunch of old-wives-tales that really have nothing to do with conception, and especially with how to conceive a boy or how to conceive a girl. They (don't ask me who "they" are) say that women are supposed to sleep on the left side of the bed. OK, so that one may be factual. NO... don't get fooled. You need to stay sharp. Focus. Now that I fooled you it may help with your conception. They say that women should increase the amount they worry in order to conceive a boy. The only thing that's going to do is secure a sleepless night with a tossing and turning girl next to you.

Now a days I think we all focus a little more on what we eat. That's great, because there a plenty of old wives tales related to what we put in our bodies. Did you know that if the man increases his consumption of soda it's supposed to increase his fertility? He may lose his teeth, but he'll be fertile. In some knitting circles they say that women should increase their consumption of red meat in order to increase their potential for conceiving a boy. Those same old wives say that if the lady increases her salty snack intake it will also help them conceive a boy. Cue up one salt crusted rib eye.

So now it comes to the actual act of love making. As if the stuff you just read isn't bad enough, trust me, it gets better. Think you can just make love any day... nope, think again. You're supposed to be making love on odd days of the month. Furthermore, if you want to heighten the potency you should make love during a quarter moon. So that leaves you with virtually 24 days a year to conceive a boy. Well... for some of you that may be a dramatic increase in your sexual activity. Let's keep on track, for this next topic we have a bit of bad news for the ladies, they say the man is supposed to climax first. Afterwords the woman is supposed to stay on their back in order to increase the fertility chances. This does not seem like the best way to spend 4 minutes (including foreplay).

So what have you learned? DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE. OK, but seriously, there is a lot to know. When you are trying to conceive a boy you will have more to sort through than you would like. Take it all in stride, you may actually learn something. Or laugh your ass off.
